Kids, illnesses, and accidents just go together. When they’re little, they have an underdeveloped immune system and they catch everything. As they get older, their immune system matures but then they start school. Injuries run the gamut from falls in busy toddlers to sports injuries in teens. As your child’s medical home, Springs Pediatrics is here to help you decide when and where your child should be seen.
Please call 911/take your child to the nearest emergency room if your child is experiencing any of the following:
If your child does not require emergency care, we would be happy to see him in the office. If you are not sure if your child needs to be seen or if you can treat them at home, please call and ask us. Generally, kids with the following symptoms should be seen in the office:
During the visit, your child’s provider will determine if any medication or laboratory testing is needed and discuss how to make your child comfortable while they recover.
How To Make a Sick Child Appointment
Contacting Springs Pediatrics
Springs Pediatrics sees patients by appointment only. We reserve multiple “Same Day” sick appointments on our daily schedules specifically to accommodate families that need these last-minute type visits. Calling ahead will ensure that one of these appointments are reserved for you and will avoid having your child sit in the waiting room for an extended period while potentially contagious.
To make an appointment for a sick child, please call 979.353.0006 or schedule online. The more information you can provide us up front, the better we can serve your child. This not only allows us to determine the severity of the illness but also helps prepare your medical provider with the appropriate background information.
